This painting was done in stages throughout 2018, with the final touches being added in early 2019. I named it Golden after I moved to Bristol, NH, for several months last year and into 2019; the painting reminded me of the gradual process of the New Hampshire leaves transforming from green to gold and brown and finally to a grey winter landscape. To me the painting has a celebratory, triumphant, yet melancholy quality that is reminiscent of the fall transformation in New England.
